This Open venue, which is on the edge of the River Clyde with a most recognizable vista to the Ailsa Craig and in the shadows of the venerable Turnberry Hotel, will doubtless host yet another memorable championship.

Tiger Woods, the current world number one and three-time Open Golf champion, has confirmed his appearance at the 2009 Open Golf Championship. Woods was forced to miss last year’s Championship through injury but will return to Open Golf competition this July at a course which he, like many of his fellow top professionals, has never played before.
