The 139th British Open Golf 2010, St Andrews, Scotland
July 15-18, St Andrews, Scotland

The town of St Andrews is internationally recognised the world over as the Home Of Golf. The town's seven links courses (all publicly owned) suit golfers of all abilities. St Andrews has an extremely rich history, inhabited since the sixth century, it played a major part in Scotland's medieval history. Today it boasts Scotland's first university and a rich cultural and community life.

This encompasses the golf courses, golf clubs and the town itself, including St Andrews hotels and guest house and bed & breakfast accommodation, restaurants in St Andrews and local nightlife.

St Andrews lies within the historic Kingdom of Fife. The surrounding towns and countryside offer a diverse range of culture and attractions whatever you want to explore - the country's best beaches, the delightful East Neuk fishing villages or the numerous castles and country houses. The area also hosts some truly marvelous golf courses, often used as qualifying courses for the Open Championship (aka British Open) and the Dunhill Links Championship. If you fancy staying outside of St Andrews, the area also boasts some excellent country house hotels, remember nowhere in this corner of Fife is more than 30 minutes by car from St Andrews - or just over the River Tay to the City of Dundee or these 5 star hotels in Scotland - the best of Scottish Hotels.
